Your PortBay account lives in the app
There is no web login to PortBay. Buying Pro, changing a card, reading an invoice and cancelling all happen in the desktop app or through Paddle, who bill on our behalf. Here is the route for each.
Getting PortBay Pro
Start the upgrade inside the app — open PortBay, then Settings → Account, and choose “Get Pro — $10/mo”. The pricing page has the full comparison if you want to read first.
- Pro is $10/month with a 7-day free trial, and cancelling during the trial costs nothing.
- A merged qualifying pull request or a qualifying GitHub sponsorship earns a perpetual Pro license instead — neither renews nor expires.
- Checkout runs through Paddle, our Merchant of Record, so your card details never reach us.
Managing your subscription
Invoices, payment methods and cancellation all live in the Paddle billing portal. Three routes reach it, and they do the same thing — pick whichever you have to hand.
In the PortBay app
Open Settings → Account → Billing. “Manage billing” opens your invoices and payment methods, “Update payment method” goes straight to the card on file, and “Cancel subscription” cancels it. The app signs you in and opens your own billing portal — nothing to look up.
The link in your Paddle receipt
Paddle emails a receipt at purchase and at every renewal, and each one carries a subscription-management link. Search your inbox for “Paddle” and “PortBay”. The link works without the app installed, which makes it the route to use from a phone or a machine that is not yours.
Email us
Write to [email protected] from the address you bought under and we will cancel, refund or move the subscription for you. A refund request can also be a reply to the Paddle receipt itself.
[email protected]We cannot put a “open my billing portal” button on this page, and that is not an oversight. Paddle issues a portal link for one customer at a time and it expires soon after it is made, so no single link is correct for two people. The app asks for yours the moment you tap Manage billing, which is why it is the fastest of the three.
Account and billing
No. PortBay signs in inside the desktop app, and the app is where your plan, your license and your billing live. There is no web dashboard to log into, and this page is not one — it points at the places that can actually act on your subscription.
Three ways, all equivalent. In the app, open Settings → Account → Billing and choose Cancel subscription. Or use the subscription-management link in any Paddle receipt email. Or email [email protected] from your account address and we will cancel it for you. Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and there is no cancellation fee.
Both live in the Paddle billing portal. Open it from the PortBay app at Settings → Account → Billing → Manage billing, or from the subscription-management link in any Paddle receipt. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for PortBay, so it holds the payment method and issues the invoices.
Because a billing portal link belongs to one customer and expires shortly after it is created. There is no single link that is correct for everyone, so a public page cannot carry one. The PortBay app requests yours the moment you ask for it, which is why the app is the fastest route.
Inside the app: open PortBay → Settings → Account and choose “Get Pro — $10/mo”. The subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. If you would rather read the plans first, the pricing page lists what Pro removes from the Community ceilings.
Not quite. The WordPress plugin is licensed per site with a key you activate on its own Status screen in wp-admin, and it is separate from the Mac app's Pro subscription — so nothing on this page or the pricing page activates it. The plugin's editor keeps working in full without a licence. Email [email protected] and we will sort out a site key with you.
Open Settings → Account and choose “Refresh my license” — the entitlement is granted a moment after checkout completes and the app picks it up on refresh. If it still does not appear, email [email protected] with the address you purchased under.
